BLACK BEAR DINER RAISES DONATIONS FOR SEQUIM FOOD BANK
(Sequim, WA) The Black Bear Diner Sequim is providing the Sequim Food Bank a different type of donation – take-out gift cards from their restaurant. The Black Bear Diner has begun a GoFundMe page where the community can donate.
General Manager, Linda Donaghay, said, “We wanted a way to bring a little joy to those in need with a comforting Black Bear Diner take-out meal.”
Said Black Bear Diner owner, Bret Wirta, “We are always looking for ways to support our community and this partnership with the Sequim Food Bank is a perfect fit. Everybody can use some fried chicken and mashed potatoes with extra gravy, during these difficult times, right?”
Donations are converted to $25 gift cards and donated to the Sequim Food Bank for distribution. Andra Smith, Executive Director of the Sequim Food Bank said, “We are so grateful for the support of our community and the Black Bear Diner for this innovative fundraiser.”
Donaghay said, “Right now the Black Bear Diner is open for take-out only, but we look forward to reopening for inside dining soon. Meanwhile these donations have the double benefit of keeping our limited staff employed.”
Wirta said, “We’ve raised a thousand dollars in just a few days. Thank you everybody. Together we’ll get through this.”
