(Kihei, HI) In an awards ceremony at the Grand Wailea Resort Bret and Trish Wirta, owners of the Black Bear Diner, Sequim WA received the 2017 Founder’s Award from their franchise. Said Jolisa Johnson, Black Bear Diner VP of Marketing & Communications, “We recognized our Sequim diner’s unwavering commitment to an overall outstanding guest experience and the Black Bear Diner brand.”
Black Bear Diner CEO and co-founder Bruce Dean presented the award. Said Dean, “In 2017 the Sequim Black Bear Diner posted the largest percentage increase in sales, some of the highest rates of customer satisfaction, a perfect health inspection, and they even won the franchise Christmas decorating contest.”
The Wirtas accepted the award on behalf of Manager Linda Donaghay, Assistant Manager, Bill Carmichael, and the entire Sequim Black Bear Diner staff. Said Bret Wirta, “We built a beautiful restaurant, but it’s the experience created by our hardworking and dedicated employees that make our guests want to return again and again. It’s an honor to accept this award for our staff.”
